The University of the Southern Caribbean is preparing for a historic, year-long journey to celebrate a century of Christian higher education, service, and impact. The upcoming schedule offers diverse opportunities for the global USC community to connect, commemorate, and look toward the future.
Road to the Centennial (2026–2027): A series of engaging initiatives will unfold throughout the year. Key milestones include the Annual USC 7K in September 2026, the Portraits of Excellence Scholarship Pageant in March 2027, and 100 Acts of Kindness culminating in a Centennial Health Fair in July 2027.
Centennial Homecoming (August 20–29, 2027): Hosted at the Main Campus in Maracas, St. Joseph, this 10-day celebration marks the culmination of the 100th anniversary on August 27, 2027. The homecoming features musical vespers, alumni reunions, a Festival of Sport, a Research Symposium, and concludes with the signature Centennial Gala.
The Centennial Portraits of Excellence Scholarship Pageant will form part of USC’s Centennial celebrations, continuing the University’s longstanding platform for student development, scholarship, leadership and service.
Gold & Silver Class Reunion
Throughout the Centennial year, the USC community will participate in 100 Acts of Kindness, demonstrating the University’s commitment to service and community impact. The initiative will culminate with a Centennial Health Fair in July 2027, providing health and wellness services and resources to members of the wider community.
USC will host YUTCAH 2027 on its Main Campus as part of the activities leading into the Centennial Homecoming period.
An interactive worship experience inspired by the Gaither Homecoming style, featuring individual artists and small groups representing generations of the USC community. Performers will be immersed among the congregation, creating a participatory experience of music, worship and reflection. The service will celebrate the important role of Friday Vespers in USC’s heritage, inspiring nostalgia while providing a fitting spiritual opening to Centennial Homecoming.
A special Centennial Sabbath worship experience bringing together alumni, students, employees, church leaders and friends of USC.
A special Centennial golf tournament designed to engage alumni, partners, supporters and friends of USC during the Homecoming celebrations.
A series of sporting activities will form part of the Centennial celebrations, creating additional opportunities for alumni and the wider USC community to reconnect through sport. Activities under consideration include golf, football/soccer, netball, cricket, basketball and road racing.
A special academic symposium showcasing research, scholarship and thought leadership from USC faculty, alumni, students and partners.
This special Homecoming experience will spotlight books and published chapters by USC alumni, faculty and staff, showcasing the breadth of literary and scholarly contributions produced by the USC community.
Connect with authors through readings, conversations, book signings and interactive sessions, while exploring works representing diverse disciplines, genres and generations.
Are you a USC author? There’s still time to be featured! Alumni, faculty and staff who have authored a book or published chapter are invited to submit their work for consideration as part of this Centennial initiative.

The University of the Southern Caribbean officially marks 100 years since its founding in 1927.
A nostalgic return to the informal fellowship that, for many USC students, followed Friday Vespers—a time to sing, pray, testify, socialize and unwind. The YCF Reunion will recreate that atmosphere, giving alumni an opportunity to reconnect, revisit shared memories and celebrate this cherished part of the USC experience.
A major musical celebration featuring USC’s 100 Voices Choir, taking audiences on a musical journey through the University’s history and highlighting the role of music in USC’s spiritual, cultural and institutional heritage.
The Centennial Homecoming will culminate with the Centennial Gala, a signature celebration commemorating USC’s century of service and recognizing the people, partnerships and legacy that have shaped the University’s first 100 years.
